A flickering lightbulb — is it a sign of something more serious?

Lynette C. of Orlando, Fla., knows all about American Water Resources and the protection programs we offer. She’s enrolled in several of our warranty plans, including our Interior Electric Protection, In-Home Plumbing Emergency, Cooling System Repair, Water Line Protection, Sewer Line Protection, and Surge Protection programs.

When this Floridian noticed that the light bulb in her bedroom ceiling fan was flickering, she thought it may just be a bad bulb that needed to be replaced. However, when she noticed that the bulb felt hot to the touch, even though the light had been switched off for a period of time, she thought there may be a more serious issue.

This is when she took advantage of her Interior Electric Line Protection coverage. She called our contact center and she spoke with a knowledgeable and friendly customer care expert. They set up a time for a member of our service provider network to come to Lynette’s home to determine the cause of her mysterious light bulb issue.

The electrician checked the wiring with Lynette’s light switch, and that wasn’t the issue. After completing a full check of the ceiling fan and its associated wiring, the electrician determined that the concerned homeowner needed to replace her aging ceiling fan. Lynette was relieved that the problem wasn’t more serious!

After her appointment, Lynette had this to say about her experience working with our team: “The gentleman who came was very knowledgeable. He identified the problem, and offered a solution.”
