Frequently asked questions

AWR provides protection from the unexpected. We offer programs to cover the big repairs that your homeowner's policy typically doesn't cover. Since the year 2000, we have grown to provide protection for over 1 million homeowners. American Water Resources is an independent third-party provider of optional home protection programs. American Water Resources is a trademark of American Water and used under license. AWR's optional programs are not provided by American Water or its affiliates

Typically, standard homeowners insurance doesn't cover repairs to your heating or cooling system. This means you, as the homeowner, are responsible for the maintenance and repair of your own systems. When you enroll in protection from AWR, you're protected beyond insurance, and you're only responsible for a small monthly payment, along with a $50 service fee per repair.

It's an affordable way to get protection for your heating system. If it fails, you will be covered for your heating system repairs. This includes labor and materials for those repairs. No hassle or bills for covered repairs. See a complete list of covered repairs and view our terms & conditions.

Your standard homeowners insurance policy probably won't cover it. But with AWR, if something were to happen to your heating system, we'd handle the covered repair. No hassle.

Call 1-855-800-5195 immediately. We're here 24/7 if you have a repair claim or any other question.

Part of good protection is providing a top quality service. We work with local, insured, independent contractors to handle your repairs. We also supply a one-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. More questions? Call us at 1-855-800-5195.

You can find coverage information outlined in the Terms & Conditions linked above the program name on this page.

Your enrollment begins the day AWR processes your Enrollment, which is the Enrollment Date on your welcome letter. Your protection and ability to make a claim begins 30 days after the Enrollment Date.

The Heating System Repair Program covers up to $2,000 per occurrence for one of our independent contractors to repair covered issues with your home’s heating system caused by normal wear and usage. If you experience a covered issue and we or our independent contractor determines that your heating system is un-repairable, we will cancel your enrollment in the Heating System Repair Program and refund your payments from the later of the effective date of the program, the renewal date of the program or date of the last covered repair, up to a maximum of 12 months. The program covers one heating system. To cover additional units, you must purchase a contract for each heating system.
