Why this plan?

In-home plumbing emergencies, such as an overflowing toilet, a clogged sink or a ruptured pipe under the sink or behind the walls, create big problems for homeowners. These incidents can also lead to significant property damage and require immediate repairs. The inconvenience is further compounded by the urgent need to source reliable professionals to resolve possible disruptions from things like:

  • Overflowing toilets

  • Broken or leaking pipes

  • Low water pressure

Unexpected repairs can be both daunting and costly. Our In-Home Plumbing Emergency Program protects you from these unexpected costs. See above for what we cover.

American Water Resources is a trademark of American Water and used under license. AWR's optional programs are not provided by American Water or its affiliates.

It's a protection plan that covers repairs to your home's interior water and sewer pipes. Think overflowing toilet, broken water pipe under your sink, stuff like that - and stuff your standard homeowners insurance likely doesn't cover.

Because plumbing emergencies are never convenient and usually costly. With AWR, you're protected from plumbing bills for covered repairs and the headache of dealing with the repair.

Most policies don't cover repairs to internal water and drain lines for issues caused by normal wear and tear. Those nasty problems are up to you to solve. So solve them in advance and get protection from AWR.

Keep it convenient and sign up for monthly billing on your water bill.* Or you can pay monthly or annually with other convenient options like credit card (VISA, MasterCard, and Discover). *Payment options vary by state

Call 1-855-705-8438 immediately. We're here 24/7 if you have a repair claim or any other question.

We handle a variety of claims, but the most common ones are: · Blockage on laundry drain line · Blockage on toilet drain line · Leaks in water line before the shutoff valve to things like a toilet, sink, or appliance · Leaks in water piping between the main shutoff into the house where the line splits to the various appliances and areas of the home

Owners of residential homes (single-family or townhouse) are eligible. If you live in a condo, check with your HOA to see if you're responsible for your sewer line.

You can find coverage information outlined in the Terms & Conditions linked under the program name on this page.

The In Home Plumbing Insurance Policy covers up to $1,500 per occurrence to repair leaks or breaks to your internal water supply system caused by normal wear and usage. Your internal water supply system is your permanent system of internal pipes and connecting fittings that distribute the incoming water supply throughout your home to fixtures and appliances. If your water meter is inside your home, this Policy covers pipes, connecting fittings and valves from the outlet side of the meter to the shut off valve at each fixture and appliance. If your water meter is outside your home, this Policy covers pipes, connecting fittings and valves from the shut off valve at the entrance point inside your home to the shut off valve at each fixture and appliance. The In Home Plumbing Insurance Policy also covers up to $1,500 per occurrence to clear or repair a blockage to your internal wastewater drainage system caused by normal wear and usage. Your internal wastewater drainage system is your permanent system of internal drains and pipes that collect and carry water and wastes throughout your home to your home's external sewer system. This policy covers all drain lines and pipes that carry water from sinks, showers and tubs and all waste lines and pipes, from toilets (blocked toilets are covered) to the point where such lines and pipes exit your home. This In-Home Plumbing Insurance Policy does NOT cover any portion of the exterior wastewater line or exterior water supply line.
