The Energy Essentials Protection Program combines three of our most popular plans into one money-saving bundle. - Interior Electric Line Protection Program: Provides up to $5,000 per occurrence toward covered repairs of exposed interior electric lines. - Interior Gas Line Protection Program: Provides up to $2,500 per occurrence toward covered repairs of exposed interior gas lines. - Surge Protection Program: Provides up to $5,000 per contract year toward the reimbursement of charges to repair or replace electronics valued at $100 or more from damage caused by an electrical surge.

A. Standard homeowner’s insurance typically doesn’t cover repairs to interior gas and electric lines needed as a result of normal wear or defect in workmanship or materials so the repairs may be your responsibility, so the repairs may be your responsibility.

A. Your coverage for gas line repairs and inspection starts immediately after we process your enrollment form. Your surge and electric line coverage begin 30 days after we process your enrollment form. (Preexisting conditions are not covered.)
A. If you think you have a gas leak or smell gas it is very important to vacate your home immediately and call your local gas utility or 911 from a safe distance outside your home. A+ rotten-egg smell may indicate a gas leak. Whether the odor is inside or outside, do not use anything that could cause a spark, including cell phones, flashlights, lights, appliances, matches and candles. If a leak is detected, the gas company will shut off your service and “red tag” the effected appliance and/or line. Red tag means that the gas furnace or other gas appliances are not operating safely and therefore the gas company will turn off the appliance and/or line and mark it with a red tag. The tag serves as a warning that an appliance is unsafe and could cause injury, property damage or even death. After the gas company shuts off your service, call AWR at 1-888-891-9920 immediately, no matter what time of day or night. AWR will dispatch a local, licensed contractor to make the necessary repairs. After AWR completes the repair, the gas company will be contacted to inspect the work completed, remove the red tag, and restore your gas service.
A. The Protection Program is for a 12-month term that will automatically renew on an annual basis if you are paying annually by credit card or on a monthly basis. You can cancel at any time.
